Our web strategy workshop is a 1/2 day workshop for SOHO and SME business owners in which we help you to understand the key topics when using the web to grow your business, and help you to formulate your business goals.
The session is informal and you'll be able to ask all those questions you have always wanted to ask, in a non-threatening atmosphere!

The workshop covers all aspects of developing a web strategy for small to medium business, including web marketing strategies.
How the webshop works?
The workshop is conducted at your offices, with you (the business owner) and key staff (if required) from the Administration, Marketing, Sales and Technology areas of your business.
The workshop leader, will give a general overview of each topic. Then give some specific insight into your business based on your preliminary questionaire. From there, we will open the floor for questions and discussion. As we progress we help you develop a four page bullet-pointed web strategy covering the 4 main topics: Design, Functionality, Content and Internet marketing
There's a lot to cover in 4 hours! To maintain balance we ensure an hour is dedicated to each of the four main areas.
1. Web Design
Good design sells. What is good design? Jargon buster: web-fonts, drop-menus, css/xhtml.
- 1/20th of a second to decide; quality design matters.
- Usability "rules" and how to use them in small sites.
- Information architecture: leading the prospect and the call to action.
- Importance of new standards (CSS/XHTML)
2. Functionality (How it all works)
Jargon buster: PHP, .Net, CMS, CRM, eCommerce, Shopping carts, Gateways, SSL...
- How (CMS) content management systems work. What they cost. What you need for your particular business.
- Displaying your product/services.
- Selling your product/services.
- How does the other stuff work? forums, galleries, downloads, articles, product tours...
- Core technologies of the web: CSS/XHTML, PHP, ASP
- Integrating with your other stuff: .Net and Java
3. Content (Devising smart web copy that drives results)
Its all about the content! - developing a content plan that will deliver prospects.
- The importance of content: search engines, inbound links, integrated email marketing.
- What web-smart businesses are doing? Blogging, PodCasting, RSS Newsfeeds. What might apply to your business.
- How to write content that sells that also works for search engines.
- The importance of evolving content.
- Your content. Now and in the future.
4. Web Marketing (Getting prospects to your website)
Busting the jargon: SEO, PPC, affiliates, e-marketing, organic results, "sandboxing" etc...
